Beer was brewed on the site of the Adnams brewery since 1396 in the quaint seaside village of Southwold. It was taken over by George and Ernest Adnams in 1857 and went public in 1891. They are committed to brewing cask ale. This strong ale enters with a creamy, off white head perched on an amber beer with tints of orange. This complex beer begins with an aroma with fruity hops up front balanced with clean malt. The flavor is clean and dry with a pleasing balance of English hops and dry malt. It ends long, dry and hoppy. This is a delightful offering from this seaside brewery.

This clone recipe was created in 2000.
