Brooklyn Brown Ale was first brewed in 1990 as a holiday beer. It became so popular that it was put on this great brewery s permanent roster. The style originated in the north of England where they were generally rich and malty, but in US the bitterness of the hops is usually accented to balance the malt sweetness. Brooklyn Brown pours with a gauzy, big bubbled light tan head that rests on a tawny brown beer. The big malt surge on the palate with roasted grains, firm hop bitterness contain notes of chocolate and coffee. The finish echos the flavor. This brown ale from Brooklyn is an outstanding example of a classic American Brown Ale.

This clone recipe was created in 2000.
